My actor friend Vatsal has a website which he wants you all to pay a visit to http://www.celebwears.com. Pl do so and give your feedback. Cheers.
In comes a tweet in the tweet roll. Vatsal Seth….mmmm…bang I locate him, next celebwears.com, the name sounds like one of those wanna make quick buck portals in the first place.
But when the message is retweeted by Salman khan on the request of his brother Arbaaz khan, its worth one click and I do exactly the same. Click.
What I see is an ordinary looking site, trying to cash in on bollywood fixation of millions of fans in India and overseas is what I figure out.
First things first, to me it’s a brilliant idea which Seth is adopting, considering that he still needs to find a foothold in the Hindi film industry if I may say so. Of what I can make out in six years since his debut with Taarzan: The wonder car the one time popular face on small screen Vatsal has only managed seven movie release with one having a guest appearance and none making it big at the Box office.
The idea does a couple of things for the actor, he has managed to sell some stuff( as the website claims) so money is coming in.
Secondly it allows him to network with one of the three Khan camps in Bollywood. (Salman Khan’s brother Sohail is the partner in Vatsals venture)
Finally if this venture clicks (I sincerely hope it does) it allows the young actor to stay afloat for surviving and sustain in the big bad bollywood can be a daunting task. This is where I feel others should learn from Seth.
What I feel he needs to work here is that he should have invested more on the website( having dabbled with my own blog for two months now I can say this is amateurish). Second, quickly get your act right young man and add some more glitz to your list, don’t corner your novel idea sticking to one camp, and be business wise.
Finally get your audience right, be the feel of it the website looks lost for audience, the pricing is too steep for even a regular multiplex going audience. If you want to target the uber class add more style to the content and your star basket and if it’s for the regular cinema goer in India price is a factor.
Better make it an auction site with a minimum price, that might well work e bay bollywood isthyle.
All the best Vatsal.
